Safety on the Cliff
Rock Falls
The cliff is, for all the chalets built on it, fundamentally a wild environment. Paths are uneven and often slippery in wet weather; parts of the cliff are prone to rock falls. Please take care when on the cliff; keep to the paths and make sure children are supervised. If you see signs of a new rock fall, please let Ben in the Cliff Top Cafe know as soon as you can, or use the contact form on this website. If you are able to provide photos of a suspect area, that would be very helpful.
Drone flying
TCCOA does not allow drones to be flown anywhere over Tregonhawke Cliff without written permission from the Board for a specific reason, e.g. for a site survey for a chalet rebuild. It is potentially hazardous to startle someone walking on narrow, uneven cliff paths and cause them to look up at a drone instead of watching their footing, so please be considerate of both the law and other cliff users, and do not fly your drone over Tregonhawke without written consent. See below for a downloadable comparison between the old rules and the December 2020 updated rules on drone flying.

Fire risk
Due to the nature of the buildings on the cliff, fire could spread rapidly. In the summer, after a prolonged dry spell, the undergrowth on the cliff also poses a risk. Please therefore be extremely careful with any naked flame. See below for a downloadable advice sheet on fire safety on the cliff
